What else is there to do in
Taos and the surrounding area?
Seated on the high-desert mesa at the foot of
the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos is rich with art and
steeped in history. Home to Taos Pueblo, the Village of Taos Ski
Valley and a colorful array of surrounding communities, Taos
County has something for everyone. The pace is slow, the air is
clean, the water clear, all contributing to a trusting
small-town feeling of hospitality. Taos offers newcomers and
visitors a warm and friendly community.
Those wide open spaces - Taos County is comprised of several
small communities that are spread out over 50 square miles. The
density here is only 9.8 persons per square mile, much less than
the national average. The sky is clear and stars shine brightly
at night. Air quality is excellent and there is almost no
pollution. Taos Pueblo, is an ancient living Indian village that
has stood unchanged for centuries. Explore the historic Taos
Plaza and its side streets. Many of the old adobe buildings that
now house shops and galleries were once the homes of some of
Taos' leading citizens -- Kit Carson, among them.
Set off on a mountain trail on skis, horseback, bike or your
own two feet. Or ride the bucking Rio Grande in a raft or kayak.
With four seasons, your recreational options are wide open. The
Native American, Spanish, and Anglo cultures are proudly
preserved through art and architecture, music and dance, and
food and festivals for all to enjoy throughout the year. The
town of Taos offers many amenities from well-maintained golf
courses to newly built retail centers. |

Directions to the
property from Taos |
Going West on highway 64 starting at the
Gorge Bridge, drive one-half mile west toward Tres Piedras,
where one finds a cattle guard on the left. This is where
two dirt roads originate. Turn left onto the cattle guard,
then proceed west on a dirt road. Do NOT go down the dirt
road that goes south. Drive 3.1 miles west from the cattle
guard, turn left on a dirt road, and drive for one mile. The
land on the right with a few structures is the start of Unit
11. Turn right on an improved gravel road and drive to the
top of a small rise. What you see is the whole of Carson
Estates Unit 11. See plat map for exact location.

I truly believe this property
is a great investment. It's not a matter if this property will
go up in value, its how much and how quickly. Taxes are under
$15 per year and are paid through 2005. Breathtaking Mountain
views in every direction. I can only imagine what lots in this
area will be worth in 10 years. If you are looking for an
investment property in New Mexico, consider these lots.
The total price will be
$5,000 for each lot
or a total of $8,000 if you wish to buy both.
